I. Divine Authority
Exodus 20:18-21- Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid4 and trembled, and they stood far off 19 and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.” 20 Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.” 21 The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

1 Peter 1:18 we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on fthe holy mountain. 19 And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention has to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,

II. Divine Exclusivity
Deut 6:4-5- Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

Joshua 24:15- “And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Martin Luther: “Whatever thy heart clings to and relies upon, that is properly thy God.”

III. Divine Supremacy
Verses 1-2- And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Isaiah 45:18- For thus says the LORD, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he wdid not create it empty, xhe formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the LORD, and there is no other.

Psalm 115:2-8 Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases. 4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands. 5 They have mouths, hbut do not speak; eyes, but do not see. 6 They have ears, but do not hear; noses, but do not smell. 7 They have hands, but do not feel; feet, but do not walk; and they do not make a sound in their throat. 8 Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them.
