The King Who is Determined to Save His Own

  • v.7-8 -- 7 Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man. 8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver.

  • John 10:28 -- 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

The King Who Cannot Be Stopped!

  • v.7 -- 7 Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man.

  • v.8-9 -- 8 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver. 9 Your hand shall be lifted up over your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off.

  • Matt 16:18 -- 18 I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

  • Eph 1:4 -- 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him.

The King Who Will Surely Sanctify His Own

  • v.10-15 -- 10 And in that day, declares the Lord, I will cut off your horses from among you and will destroyyour chariots; 11 and I will cut off the cities of your land and throw down all your strongholds; 12 and I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no more tellers of fortunes; 13 and I will cut off your carved images and your pillars from among you, and you shall bow down no more to the work of your hands; 14 and I will root out your Asherah images from among you and destroy your cities. 15 And in anger and wrath I will execute vengeance on the nations that did not obey.

  • Eph 5:26-27 -- 26 that he might sanctify her (the church), having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

  • 1 Thes 5:23-24 -- 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
