COVID-19 Update

March 5, 2022

  1. As LA County Department of Public Health has lifted mask restrictions for LA county, CrossLife will be transitioning to masks optional when outdoors or indoors, regardless of vaccination status.  Please be sensitive to those that are at higher risk.  If someone is wearing a mask, please consider maintaining a safe distance if you are unmasked.  It may be due to the fact that they are more vulnerable and at a higher risk for COVID complications.

  2. Also, starting in March, we will no longer have the RSVP worship registration.  When you arrive, just let the deacon/usher know if you prefer indoor or outdoor and we will accommodate you.

  3. LIFEGroups will be returning to the in-person gathering option in March.  Since each group has a different make up of individuals, we will leave it up to the LIFEGroup’s discretion as to whether they choose to meet indoors or outdoors as well as mask requirements.

Eph 4:2-3 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

February 12, 2022

Greetings CrossLife.  With the recent surge of the Omicron variant and the subsequent confusion as to when one should isolate/quarantine, the deacons are sending out a follow-up email, based on CDC guidelines, to help you determine whether you and your family can safely attend CrossLife if exposed to COVID-19.  Included is an update from the LA County Department of Public Health to help parents determine whether or not your child can safely attend school, or church if exposed to COVID-19 in a group setting.

For everyone who tests positive for COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status

  • Stay home for 5 days

  • If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving after 5 days, you can leave your home

  • Continue to wear a mask anytime around others for at least 5 additional days

  • If you have a fever, continue to stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever resolves without the need for fever-reducing medications

What to do if you are exposed to someone with COVID-19
If you are exposed to someone with COVID-19 and have been boosted or completed your primary two-dose series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months or received the J&J vaccine within the last 2 months:

  • You do not have to stay home unless you develop symptoms.

  • Wear a mask around others for 10 full days anytime you are around others.

  • Even if you don’t develop symptoms, get tested at least 5 days after you last had close contact with someone with COVID-19

  • If you develop symptoms, get a test, isolate at home and consider contacting your Physician.

If you are exposed to someone with COVID-19 and you are not vaccinated or have been vaccinated but you received your Pfizer or Moderna two-dose primary series more than 6 months ago or received the J&J vaccine over two months ago and have not been boosted:

  • Stay home and quarantine for 5 days. After that continue to wear a mask around others for 5 additional days

  • If you can’t quarantine you must wear a mask for 10 days when around others.

  • Even if you don’t have symptoms, test at least 5 days after you last had close contact with someone with Covid-19.

If you develop symptoms, take a test, stay at home and consider contacting your Physician.

In regard to students in K-12, we are following recently updated LA County Department of Health School guidelines which states the following:

  • In a group tracing approach, students in the identified ‘exposed group’ may remain in school/church and participate in all school/church activities during the quarantine period provided they are asymptomatic and meet the requirement below:

Students, regardless of vaccination status or previous infection, are required to remain fully masked indoors and outdoors, unless actively eating or drinking, when around others through day 10 after their exposure. Eating and drinking should happen distanced from others. Students need to remain masked at all times during sports and/or extracurricular activities.

With the rise in covid cases due to the omicron variant, we continue to do everything we can to keep CrossLife as safe as possible for in person worship.  Please remember, while we do have a health screen check-in before entering, you are the best judge of how and what you are feeling.  The Omicron variant appears to be milder in symptoms and at times mimics symptoms of the common cold. If you are not feeling well, please contact your local health care provider and remain at home.  You are welcome to watch the livestream service at 10 am on our YouTube Channel.  If you have tested positive for Covid-19 or have been in close contact with someone that has and are not sure if it is safe for you to attend  in-person worship service, here are the recommended guidelines (as per the CDC) to follow:

September 1, 2020

Guidelines for returning to worship at CrossLife Church have been posted here. We will meet at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings at The Lodge at 33 E Sierra Madre Blvd. Links for registration will be emailed weekly, or you can email info@crosslifecc.com to register.

August 13, 2020

The elders and deacons of CrossLife Church plan to have a trial run of worship service and streaming in the parking lot on August 30. Assuming nothing significant changes and all goes well, we will have our first church gathering on September 6. Because this will be outside, we will use pop-up tents and start service earlier.

Because of the space limitations, we will be able to accommodate about 20 household units. An online reservation system will be used in order to help the deacons set up tents appropriately.

Due to space limitations and social distancing requirements, there will be NO children's Sunday School classes when we resume our in-person services.  All children will sit with and worship together with their parents.  Activity sheets will be available on CLCC's website every week for parents to download and print out for their children to complete during the sermon.

Our children's virtual Sunday School classes will continue on Sunday afternoons: G1-3 and G4-6 will both meet at 1:00 PM.  Please email children@crosslifecc.com for more information.

July 1, 2020

While we had plans to re-open physical gatherings at the Lodge beginning Sunday, July 5, after prayerfully considering the recent spike of COVID-19 cases in L.A. County, we will be postponing this re-opening and continue to closely monitor the situation. The elders and deacons of CrossLife are committed to pursuing re-gathering on Sundays yet do so with care and consideration for the physical well-being of the church. Thank you for your continued trust and your support.

June 7, 2020

Please note that CrossLife Community Church continues to NOT meet at the Lodge for Sunday worship due to the ongoing COVID-19 virus. While we are currently planning for re-opening, until further notice our services will continue to be pre-recorded and posted here at our church website for Sunday worship. We will keep the church updated via the website and email when we know more about re-gathering as a church.

April 9, 2020

UPDATE: Due to the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, CrossLife Community Church will NOT be re-gathering on Sunday April 19th, as initially stated. The leadership continues to monitor the situation and will evaluate the counsel of the CDC. The leadership of CrossLife will keep the church updated via our website and email. Thank you, stay safe, and keep treasuring Christ.

Dear CrossLife Church Family,

With the on-going concerns about COVID-19 (“Coronavirus”) and out of an abundance of caution and care for our church family and our community, the Pastors-Elders of CrossLife Community Church are suspending all Sunday services and ministries effective immediately, unless further extended. We will closely monitor the situation and keep our church family informed via email and our website.

As we temporarily cease our church services and ministries, our call to love Christ and love others continues. Let us pray for God’s mercy for all who are affected, for all those working on the frontlines, and for complete removal of the virus in this country and around the world. We also encourage each of you to not live in fear but walk by faith, trusting the One who created all things and controls the wind and the waves by His word.

And what about Sundays? While we will not gather physically in one location for the time being, we encourage you to visit the new CrossLife website each Sunday morning to worship the Lord. You and your family will be able to continue to worship through songs, prayer, the Word, and even (online) giving via a pre-recorded service.

We understand that these may be fearful times. We see people hoarding goods and panicking at every update on COVID-19. But Christians ought not be so. We know Jesus. More importantly, he knows us and he loves us. And he calls us to be anxious for nothing, to believe all his promises, and to be light in a dark and frightened world. May the Lord use this time to strengthen our faith and deepen our love for one another and those around us.

CrossLife, it personally pains me to be away from the church family I love so much, especially on the Lord’s Day. But in full agreement with the apostle Paul, while we are apart, may we “endeavor the more eagerly and with great desire, to see you face to face” (1 Thes 2:17).

Trusting and treasuring Jesus with you,
Pastor Jojo and the Elders of CrossLife Community Church

“This is my Father’s world.
O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the Ruler yet.
This is my Father’s world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!”
